Dripping

Hotpixel has developed functions that allow participants in an installation to experience a relationship with the code, manipulating color, form and movement.

For the interactive installation “Dripping”, the timing and movement of the audience generated changes in the audio and content patterns, mapped using a Kinect camera that was capable of detecting the presence of the spectators. All of the movements were made visible on panels, moving from one panel to another.

The software was programmed using OpenFrameworks, an open source toolkit that uses the C++ programming language. Because of this, the piece has a rapid processing ability to execute visual operations through a computer and manipulate particles in real time.
